Our services help businesses overcome linguistic barriers, ensuring effective communication and operations. We specialize in document translations, Irish translation services performed by native Irish translators, interpreting services for virtual and in-person events, as well as transcription and proofreading services.
Role Description
We are seeking a full-time Sales and Business Development Executive to play a strategic role in the development of DCU Language Services’ new sales leads and business growth. This position requires a strong external focus, commercial acumen, a long-term, results-driven approach, and a high level of initiative. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent sales capabilities alongside strong administrative and leadership skills, enabling them to identify opportunities, manage relationships, and contribute effectively to DCU Language Services’ continued success. The successful candidate will work alongside our Translation Services Manager to achieve administrative and sales objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Design and execute portfolio expansion strategies.
- Monitor and review pricing to ensure competitiveness.
- Identify, pursue, and convert new sales leads and business opportunities.
- Carry out administrative duties and project management tasks.
- Manage, maintain and expand the vendor database.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies informed by market research.
- Grow existing accounts through upselling, cross‑selling, and identifying new multilingual content opportunities.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and webinars to build brand presence and generate leads.
- Attend client meetings and networking events.
- Collaborate with the Translation Services Manager on tender applications and on compliance matters, including data protection and GDPR.
Applicant profile
We are seeking a proactive, results-driven, and commercially minded professional with a proven ability to identify and develop new business opportunities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong collaboration and leadership skills, enabling them to work effectively with internal stakeholders (Translation Services Manager, Language Services Administrators and Finance Officer), while confidently growing client relationships and business opportunities.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
- Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Proven experience in a sales and business development role.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Proven track record in B2B sales, ideally within an LSP or related environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and proactivity.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
- Eligibility to work full-time in the Republic of Ireland.
- Business travel required to attend customer meetings and sales events. Desirable Requirements
- Knowledge of the translation and localisation industry and its challenges.
- Understanding of data protection and GDPR.
- Familiarity with tender processes and experience with public-sector clients.
- Professional certifications in sales, project management and/or business development.

- Salary: €35,000 – €40,000 per year DOE
